Our generation has seen ebola, SARS, N1H1, hunger, cancer, diabetes and other diseases that have attacked our needing world. And other generations have know war, famine, plague and natural disasters that seemed like they would wipe out cultures and countries. COVID-19 is the latest disease to add its name to the list, and the pain and crisis that it has brought shines a bright light of the reality that people need God. Along with receiving heartbreaking statistics each day, we have also heard heart warming stories of atheists who were brought to God by the pandemic and record-breaking on-line church attendance and salvations.

Do we see it?

The same world that we may have accused of rejecting God is crying out for him.
The same world that we may have accused of rejecting God is crying out for him. Are we hearing their voices? Are we acknowledging the signs?

I pray we hear, I pray we see, I pray we do.
Those who don't yet know Jesus have become increasingly aware of just how famished they are for hope and a plan for eternity. But believers must guard against the temptation to hunker down, driving on auto-pilot in survival mode and focusing on how inconvenient this time can be.

Our higher option is to feel the pain of those who are not only in physical need, but who are also spiritually naked and alone, and grieve with them in the realization of their poverty, covering their nakedness with love while we also grieve the losses alongside them. We are given the chance to influence, love, and pastor an entire generation through our words and action - our testimonies. No one is unnecessary, no gift or personality is too small in this moment. We are all around people who desperately need God, and the only way they may have to receive it is YOU.

We are all around people who desperately need God, and the only way they may have to receive it is YOU.

Step out dear, dare to be the light you know you are.
Share your meal, your toilet paper, and your faith.
Share your hope, let it shine.
They are scared in the darkness and you, loved one, have the light.
